Protractor
The
protractor is an instrument widely used for measuring and marking on walls.
It is basically composed of a circular scale, or sections of a circle, spaced and marked in uniformly divided angles, like a graduated ruler.
The protractor is employed in education, such as in mathematics and engineering classes, as well as in surveying, civil construction, and many other fields that require this device for accurate angle measurement.
Protractors are generally fixed or movable:
- Fixed
- 360° Protractor
- 180° Protractor
- 90° Protractor
- Movable
Protractors can mark angles not only in degrees but also in mils, such as those used by the military for targeting applications.
Protractors are also used in areas such as aeronautics, astronomy, navigation, and trigonometry.
